COACHING. MENTORING. TRAINING

DEFINTION

Coaching is a versatile term, but to me, it means the following: actively listening to people, engaging with them as equals, and asking targeted questions to give them the space to develop their own thoughts. A key component is to jointly define clear goals and work towards achieving them.

Coaching also means conveying a sense of being taken seriously and gently guiding the person without being overbearing. Sometimes, it is helpful to offer valuable suggestions or share personal experiences, especially when it contributes to achieving the defined goals. The crucial aspect is to be there for the person, accompanying and supporting them throughout their development.

SERVICES

YOUTH COACHING

Youth coaching requires special approaches to address the needs and challenges of young people. Here are four key points that are crucial in youth coaching:

  1. Building Trust and Openness: Establishing a trusting relationship is essential to create an environment where young people feel safe and understood. Open communication and respect for their opinions and feelings foster a positive coaching experience.

  2. Goal Setting and Motivation: Helping young people set clear and achievable goals is central. They are motivated by breaking down their goals into smaller, manageable steps and discussing regular progress.

  3. Boosting Self-Confidence and Responsibility: Young people should be encouraged to develop self-confidence and take responsibility for their own decisions. The aim is to strengthen their self-esteem and encourage them to recognize and utilize their strengths and talents.

  4. Life Skills and Problem-Solving Strategies: Youth coaching should not only focus on current challenges but also on imparting lifelong skills. This can include problem-solving strategies, communication, time management, and stress management, helping them successfully navigate both current and future challenges.

SPORTS COACHING

For a sports coaching program aimed at building self-confidence, promoting health, supporting social connections, and avoiding overthinking, consider the following four essential points:

  1. Individual Adaptation and Flexibility: Sports coaching should be flexible to meet the needs and abilities of each individual. This can be achieved through tailored training plans, personalized exercises, and varying difficulty levels, allowing participants to start at their own level and progress.

  2. Self-Confidence and Personal Growth: The coaching focuses on fostering self-confidence. Through gradual challenges, constructive feedback, and celebrating successes, participants can be encouraged to push their boundaries and trust their own abilities.

  3. Health and Well-Being: A health-oriented approach is essential to ensure participants remain physically and mentally fit. This includes a balanced mix of endurance, strength, and flexibility exercises, as well as promoting healthy habits like nutrition, rest, and recovery.

  4. Social Connections and Team Spirit: Sports coaching can provide a great opportunity to make social connections and foster team spirit. Through group activities, team exercises, and shared goals, a sense of community is created, helping participants feel comfortable and enjoy working together.

BIO

I completed my CAS in Coaching & Mentoring in 2022 and have been working as a freelance coach since then. In this role, I have already supported numerous individuals from various life and professional backgrounds in advancing their personal development and achieving sustainable success.

I am a firm advocate of continuous growth and constantly update my coaching methods. As a member of the Swiss Coaching Association, I consider it essential to continually develop myself and engage with other professionals.

In addition, I am a trained business administrator and social pedagogue, and I have been working with people in challenging life situations for many years. Currently, I work in the closed unit of the "Aufnahmeheim Basel", one of the most respected institutions for delinquent youth at high risk of acute self-harm or harm to others.

One of my greatest strengths lies in dealing with motivation and resilience. I have repeatedly proven that I can encourage people to develop their abilities and overcome challenges. In my former role as a social-pedagogical family counselor, I also gained practical experience in the immediate living environments of my clients. This role required a high degree of sensitivity and empathy.

Privately, I am a father of two, a dog owner, and a passionate martial artist. My long-standing experience in martial arts forms the foundation of my sports coaching. I am communicative and open-minded and have had the privilege of living in various regions of the world. I speak fluent German and English and have basic knowledge of Serbo-Croatian, Spanish, and French.

As a coach, I interact with my clients authentically and respectfully, guiding them solution-oriented and systematically through their processes. As a client, you are the expert on your own concerns, and I support you in achieving your goals and attaining sustainable success.
